Cajamarca es Patrimonio de la Humanidad, distincion que sin duda merece, lo que le vendria muy bien para remozar algunos monumentos historicos de gran importancia, como los conjuntos monumentales Belen y La Recoleta, la iglesia San Francisco y el cuarto del rescate, que recuerda lo sucedido el 16 de noviembre de 1532, cuando un grupo de espanoles al mando del Pizarro tomo preso al Inca Atahualpa. y a pesar de recibir una habitacion llena de oro y plata por su rescate, este fue finalmente ejecutado.
